On Saturday, September 28th, we had the pleasure of joining a vibrant Oktoberfest celebration at the Junction Container Market in downtown Vancouver. Hosted by our member Rolanda and her business partner Patrick, this year’s inaugural Oktoberfest event was a delightful blend of tradition and community spirit.

Our large group of members and friends gathered for an evening brimming with excitement and festivity. The atmosphere was electric, with lively music setting the perfect tone for a night of celebration. True to Oktoberfest tradition, the event featured plenty of delicious German beer and mouthwatering food, including standout dishes from another GCBA member, Munich Child Food (Amelie). Thanks – Your pretzels are always a crowd favorite!

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this would be a memorable experience. The cheerful crowd, festive decorations, and delicious food created an authentic Oktoberfest vibe. Highlights included lively dancing to traditional German tunes, friendly competitions, and lots of laughter.

Oktoberfest isn’t just about great beer and food; it’s also about coming together as a community and creating lasting memories. Our group enjoyed lively conversations, made new friends, and shared in the fun of the evening. The event was a wonderful reminder of the joy that comes from celebrating together.

A special thanks to Rolanda and Patrick for their fantastic hosting, and to Amelie for the delicious fare. We’re already looking forward to next year’s festivities and more chances to come together and celebrate our vibrant community.

Prost to a great event and many more to come!

A huge thanks for all the photos and fun stories from the Oktoberfest, provided by members and friends.
