“Celebrating Tradition and Milestones at the 2023 Christmas Gala“
On December 6th, 2023, the German Canadian Business Association (GCBA) gathered at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club for our annual Christmas Gala, coinciding with Nikolaus Tag. Nikolaus himself was present, delighting guests with gifts and adding a traditional German touch to the festivities.
This year’s gala was particularly special as we celebrated the GCBA’s 60th anniversary, reflecting on six decades of fostering business connections, cultural exchange, and community support. Esteemed guest speakers provided valuable insights, from innovative business strategies to enriching cultural understandings, inspiring attendees with fresh perspectives.
A highlight of the evening was a performance by soprano Ingrid Faedo, who led a traditional Christmas sing-a-long in both German and English. The room resonated with beautiful harmonies as guests joined in, creating a festive and heartwarming atmosphere.
Adding to the excitement, we held a raffle with great prizes generously donated by our members and friends. The raffle added an extra layer of fun and engagement, with many guests taking home wonderful gifts.
The gala combined elegance and joy, with exquisite cuisine, delightful conversations, and the stunning ambiance of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. It was a memorable evening celebrating tradition, achievement, and the enduring spirit of the GCBA.
